In this text, our goal is to present a clear and concise path to true
success in life. We will consider success in the view and in reference to
the eternal terms of living. How does God view success for man and
woman? Are we victims of a blind fate or do we determine what our own
successes and destinies. Or, are we just victims of own circumstances?
Do we really determine what is success for us? Does society
determine it? Are we the captain of our souls, the master of our fate?
Does a person success determine another person success or our successes in
living determine by how others succeed? Or, does a man and woman success
reflects the success of another man or woman? In other words, what is
successful for one person, can this be true success for another? Is what
we call success on our terms today really success in the eternals terms?
There
are these issues and more issues for consideration before us in this text.
We will examine the bottom line of success. Where did modern
success ideas come in the western world? What the philosophers have had to
say about what we call success? Again, Is what we call success really
success in the eyes of the Eternal Mind?
You
will unlikely observe in this text at times a rather constant phase–
that is, ‘success in eternal terms.’ What are these eternal
terms? As we unfold each chapter of study in the art of success and modern
living, another constant fact will be, ‘Living Successfully’ ‘How
to get the most out of living.’ I pray and hope this will become a
rewarding course of study and action for you and the journey embarked upon
will brings beneficial and lasting results. This book is dedicated to
those seeking the true meaning and perspective of life and living. In
these days of great human stress, worry, uncertainties and pursues of life
in what we call a modern world, there is a great need for clear directives
as given by the Creator to find a clear and right path for us to follow.
That path can only be known in the light of God’s directives, guidance
and wisdom. We will make many references to the Bible (translations in the
King James Version, New King James Version and The Living Bible). The
Bible references about living and it’s teachings about success and the
good life. Our Creator designed life. Is it not He who is best qualified
to defined true success in life and right living and thinking? Does not
our Creator have the key to a complete and rewarding life upon this
planet? Is it not that our Creator can lift us above the chance and
circumstances of living? Is it not Our Creator the One who teaches us and
helps us to get the most out of living?
We
shall discover how to get out of debt and how to live a stress free life.
In essence, the book is designed to help the reader to start really living
the life of their desires and dreams. We perhaps could have title this
book Creating Your Own Destiny; but it really is about How to
Get Exactly What You Want Out of Life, and How to find the ultimate
success path for those of us who are low and high achievers. This book
is for anyone who wants more out of life! Most people want to get more
worth, meaning, more fulfillments, more time, more money, more freedom,
more health, more love, and more happiness in life. Creating one’s own
destiny through the principles taught in this book will be an aid if you
consider the things given in the text as a simple path of success and it
is a revealed path to more abundant living. We offer this book for your
greater fulfillment and rewards in living a complete life. Hopefully, one
will search their inner soul for the meaning necessary to apply simple
directives provided in the text. We hope there will emerge simple
strategies that will help you get what you ultimately want out of life
in one reading of the text. In turn, this purpose-minded text on
succeeding is set to make a difference if carefully considered.
Is building money prosperity the only effort to be made for
prosperity in success? To understand what is true prosperity requires very
little effort. If a person is struggling to get true prosperity and the
most out of living, they’re going about it the wrong way. Hopefully, in
this text, we will learn to relax and allow prosperity to come to us and
learn how to change our life from struggle to daily fulfillments and
rewards in living. I guarantee you will never be the same after one
reading. Success can come into your reach if you have not experience it.
Your success’ desire can become reachable within the pages of this
book’s text.
Introduction
This
is not a series of lectures, essays, sermons or speeches on success. But
rather this text is about a serious and pensive consideration of living
successfully and getting the most out of living. Its approach is sound,
basic and proven thought and a method that has comes from the heart of
study over life and seeking life best outcome. The moral message and
technical methods (at some times it may appear very technical) are all
proven in the lives of thousands of successful people. These methods are
only principles of life to be employed for success in living. It is really
not about who is the greatest, or who was more purpose driven to do the
most in life or the less. I believe success in life lies more in the right
principles of life than in the driven purpose for living. Life on this
planet is a one-way street and sooner or later it reaches a dead-end. Each
individual must reckon with his or her self as to their best returns in
whatever course of life they take. It is quite obvious that we as
individuals did not receive the same calling, task or mission in living.
Each human being is a designed copy by the Creator and we must insist that
the Creator unlikely designed us so differently that when He finish with
one, He threw the blueprint away and create another blueprint.
Many
people spend their lives searching for themselves and measuring their
lives by others success. They really think true success is to acquire
tremendous financial wealth. Unfortunately, this is the mark of being
successful in the western world and perhaps many other parts of the world.
People seek every external means and resources that can give them what
they want financially, and ultimately they are very disappointed when
their financial dreams don’t turn out the way they had planned. They
sometimes become very wealthy at the expense of their inner and spiritual
wholeness. They may lose family and friends in the search, or they may
never acquire the riches they have aspired to, and in their
disappointment, they discover they’ve lost all sense of self-worth and
being. The spirit and message of this book is an approach to achieving
spiritual wealth, financial wealth and above all a sense of well being in
all our achievements. We shall focus on success in eternal terms and
the inner worth, success in the terms of its relationship to
meaningful living. We will determine the strength and knowledge learned
from living life within eternal terms and hopefully we may presently a
process to create our own worth and ability to change things for a better
outcome in living. Hopefully, this book will place in your hands and life
personal enlightenment for wealth in body, mind, and spirit.
When
thinking of “Living Successfully” in this life there must come
to mind, what is success? First, in defining success, the Philosopher
Aristotle stated, “success is the best thing a man can do with his
life. In order to obtain this success one must have a goal, or objective
for their life. Success does not mean wealth or power, or having virtue
without exercising that virtue.” In
Aristotle’s day, there was a Nicomachean Ethics that stated there are
three reasons for living.
One,
this theses stated a reason for living was enjoying refined pleasures,
which is best defined as a life of pleasure and pleasant amusement.
Aristotle reply to this ethical point was “that no one in their right
mind would chose that life.” Immature fun, such as that which
children enjoy, living in order to sleep, eat, have sex, or work is an
unfulfilling and unrewarding job to live as life only reward for being
successful.
Two,
the second reason to live is to earn a good name for yourself in your own
eyes and in the eyes of the community, such as a career in public service.
Thirdly,
the ethics taught one to appreciate and understand the universe in which
we find ourselves, such as a philosopher or thinker would do in life.
Everyone will choose one of these three ways of life (as this ethics
taught). However, one must have a personal and financial independence to
do either of these choices. So, to experience either of these paths of
success what one would say they are successful based upon one of the three
paths mentioned. Looking again at these three thoughts, are we really
successful having the good life of success these ways?
"Happiness"
equals "success" and "success" equals "blessing."
Success (eudaimonia in the Greek) is translated as happiness in English,
and happy (makarios) is translated as blessed, or enjoying a share of the
divine life, livings like a god. However, happiness comes from the
original Hebrew word, “hap” meaning, and a “chance.” Happiness
is a word of chance. In other words, to be happy depends upon the state of
affairs one may be in at the time. One can only be happy when the
condition is favorable. When the condition is unfavorable, happiness is
not found. Man is the one earth creature that can experience happiness in
degrees. Aristotle taught that animals couldn’t enjoy success, because
they have no share of the divine, and the gods enjoy a different type of
ideal existence than animals.
In
order to attain success you must use your skills and knowledge to pursue
certain objectives for the sake of higher goals and objectives. For
example, a human can either: accomplish one objective, such as running a
mile, and accomplish another objective for a higher purpose, that is being
in shape and good health it brings to run.
In
success the single highest objective in life is to live well and do well. This
is being successful. This places success in living within all our
reach. An objective in success in the highest degree is only worth
pursuing if in success we find a good well being or as we find what we
would call “wholeness in living. This achieved is truly getting the
most out of living!” Achieving this state of being in life is success
whether life is lived long or short. Longevity in life has merit, but
fulfillment in life out weighs longevity says most of the philosophers.
